Cherokee Trail Farm

Oh, LORD (Great Spirit)

Of our Ancestors, I raise my arms to you. To your

messengers the Four Winds, and to Mother Earth who provides for

your children. Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to

respect, and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with

peace in mind.  Chief Yellow Hawk.

The Legend of the Cherokee Rose

An Indian Story tells of how the brave Cherokees were driven west

by the U.S. Government. God looked down upon them and forged

their tears into rose-shaped stones. These stone roses are found only

in Oklahoma, the end of the " Trail of Tears."

 "Nunahi-duna-hilu-i"

Between June and December of 1838 more then 15,000 Cherokee's

were forced to depart their homes in the Southern Appalachians

and walk more than a 1000 miles to Indian Territory.

Between 4,000 and 8,000 Cherokees died on "Nunahi-duna-hilu-i,"

The Trail Where They Cried.
